❤ Support midi.city -- Digital Membership + T-Shirt/Sticker fundraiser

Hi all,

The site has recently seen a spike in usage (around 2x the usual amount) which is awesome, but it’s also cranked up the infrastructure cost of hosting the platform and its assets.

I’m gauging interest in a fundraiser that can help raise funds that will directly go to maintaining the site and improving features that you’ve all been asking for.

This site is independent and has never shown ads of any kind and I’d like to keep it that way.

If you’d be interested in purchasing a yet-to-be-designed t-shirt/sticker combo pack, please fill out the following polls:

Support Type (select multiple)

  • $5 monthly digital donation (access to early beta features, forum flare, VIP forum access, lifetime access to any premium features)
  • $5 (+ s/h) Premium Sticker Pack
  • $35 (+ s/h) T-Shirt

0 voters

T-Shirt Size (if selected above)

  • XXXS
  • XS
  • S
  • M
  • L
  • XL
  • XXL
  • XXXL

0 voters

I’ll leave the polls open for a while and will reach out to those who voted directly with next steps.

The T-shirt design will be posted here if enough voters choose that option and a size. The design will generally be in line with the aesthetic of the site.

If you have any feedback or questions, please feel free to post them in this thread or send me a direct message.

Thanks and stay tuned for some exciting news.

Hello! Love the site! I just wanted to offer an idea for funding: myNoise.net is a site I use a lot, offering ambient/white noise (I use it for focus, for some I gather it is therapeutic). And I find its funding model useful and motivating.

When I am logged in it shows my personal funding score: each star out of 5 represents an average of 1 cent per day. That seems more than reasonable to me, so every time I log in and use it, if I have dropped below five stars, I chip in another $5 via PayPal. This helps me track my donations, and gently prompts me to give without the commitment of a recurring donation. And if funding requirements were higher I think it would still work with some explanation.

Anyway, just an idea! Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion @lowbeer!

I dug around that site and really enjoy how he approached this. He’s really thoughtful with his support tier descriptions (I also love the carbon offset feature).

I plan on introducing a monthly support model that’s somewhat close to this. I think being transparent as to where the funds are going are key.
